Al Sha’far urges Sharjah’s ‘Residency’ and ‘Civil Defense’ departments to provide fast services

Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, called upon the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah’s staff members to ensure easy and speedy completion of citizens’ transactions to in order to facilitate procedures.

At the same time, Al Sha’far urged Al Sharjah Civil Defense to implement development plans for a number of its basic services in order to facilitate their responses and reduce the amount of damage fire incidents cause.

On Wednesday, Al Sha’far was briefed on the workflows and the services provided by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and Civil Defense in Sharjah. At the Residency Department, he was briefed on the process of receiving people’s complaints, their requests, and how those requests are completed. He reviewed the services in the presence of Brigadier General Dr. Abdullah bin Sahoo, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah.

Moreover, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior called upon the Sharjah Civil Defense Department to implement development plans for their basic services, especially human services, in order to reduce the amount of fires and the losses of property that they cause.

He also urged them to focus on training in order to enhance the scientific and professional qualifications of their staff members. 

It is worth mentioning that Al Sha’far had examined the Al Sharjah Civil Defense Department and examined the equipment and devices that are used during the firefighting and rescue missions in the presence of Brigadier Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director General of Al Sharjah Civil Defense.

He stressed the need to strengthen and develop prevention and control and safety in all buildings, including high-rise buildings, as a key indicator of the development of civil defense services, and an important factor in providing a safe environment for the community. On the other hand, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Permanent Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Internal Security, Ministry of Interior, presided over the regular meeting of the Commission, at Dubai Police Officers Club..

The meeting comes in implementation of the Ministerial Decree No. 152 of 2009 issued by HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, within the strategy of the ministry.

Meeting was attended by Maj. Gen. expert Khamis Mattar Almazina, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Hamid Mohammed AlHudaidi commanding general of Sharjah Police, Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, Commander in Chief of Fujairah Police, and Brigadier Sheikh Sultan Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Deputy Commanding General of the Ajman Police, Brigadier Mohammed AlNubi Mohammed Deputy Commander General of Ras Al Khaimah Police.

Also attended by Brigadier General Dr Salim Ahmed Al Mazrui, deputy general commander of Umm Al Quwain police and Brigadier Saeed Salem Alhamsi, Director General of Finance and Support Services at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Faris Khalifa AlFarsi general manager of security guards and special tasks of the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Ahmed Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of emergency management, public administration to the security bodies and establishments and emergency in Dubai Police, Brigadier Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director of Civil Defense in Sharjah and Colonel Abdulaziz Ahmad Al-Hajri commander of the Special Security Forces of the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Abdul Wahab Ahmed Al Hajri, Director General of Central Operations at the Ministry of Interior and the rest of the committee members, heads of sub-related work of the Commission.

During a meeting held at the department, he examined the future projects that will be implemented in line with the Ministry of Interior’s strategies that aim to improve the police force’s work. He also went on an inspection tour of the Al Sharjah Residency Department to review the workflows and procedures.

Team leaders reviewed the achievements during the current year, while lieutenant colonel Dr. Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Habsi, reporter of the Supreme Committee, reviewed the detailed report on the work and achievements of the Supreme Committee for Homeland Security in 2013. It is noteworthy that the Supreme Committee Permanent Homeland Security includes all the leaders and managers of the police and civil defense in the state, and aims to discuss ways to enhance cooperation, coordination and exchange of experiences and information between all police departments in the UAE, and monitor events and developments of security and the development of plans and instructions and scenarios related to internal security.
