The Ministry of Public Works in Dubai confirmed that the rate of achievement in establishing the Khor Fakkan passports centre in Sharjah, exceeded 75%, and work was underway to be completed and received by beginning of December, the work has started in May last year, with a contract worth 21 million and 968 thousand Dirhams.

Eng. Mariam Abdul Karim, Deputy Director of Construction Department in the ministry, said that the Office of the Eastern Region supervising the Centre of passports building in Khor Fakkan, witch measuring 6 thousand and 62 square meters, standing on an area of 40 thousand square meters, is expected to be completed according to the contract signed with executing company after two and a half month.

The main building of the project consists of two-storey and ground, the ground floor comprises several sections: (Computer, visa, detention, investigation and deportation, customer service), and the first floor includes the (Department of Naturalization and Residency, Public Administration, Meeting Room), and the second floor (conference room), The estimated capacity of the administrative building is 150 employees.

The Centre reports to the Ministry of the Interior and provides the region's nationality services and residency, where taken into account in its design the existing of green areas, which would preserve the environment on one hand and the aesthetic of the area the other hand, note that there are extensions building, for example a 100 parking lot.
