A Joint Cooperation Between “Sharjah Media Corporation” and “Sharjah Residence” for Community Development

Sharjah Media Corporation and General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah, yesterday signed a memorandum of strategic partnership between the two sides, on the basis of their active role in the development of society, and their belief in the importance of the strategic partnership that serve the common good among the different segments and categories of society.

The memorandum of understanding was signed in institution building by Dr. Khalid Omar AlModfaa, Director General of the Sharjah Media, and Brigadier General Thani Obaid Al Shamsi, director of ports management in the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation and Colonel Arif Mohammed Sultan Al Shamsi, Director General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah.

The memorandum aims to develop a general framework for cooperation between the two parties, in order to support the strategic directions of each, and continue to facilitate the parties on issues of common interest. It also aims to contribute to determine the basic rules for joint cooperation.

Media Platform

Dr. Khalid Omar AlModfaa - Director General of Sharjah Media Corporation - said: «the signing of this agreement is the embodiment of the vision of Sharjah Media Corporation accompanying the strategic goals of the Government of Sharjah, in the consolidation of its role as a media platform in the region, through the strengthening of partnerships with actors in society».

For his part, Colonel Arif Al Shamsi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah stressed the importance of establishing successful partnerships with major institutions working in the UAE, and further enhance the extensive local network of strategic partners, including help to further cooperation between these institutions.


Sharjah Media Corporation is committed through the memorandum to provide media training courses for cadres and employees of the department, and broadcast ads, or logos, or awareness messages, to raise public awareness of the importance and the variety of services offered by the residence management, and to shed light on practices that may be considered wrong, to community education and awareness about it.
