“MOI” Discusses Means to Boost Efforts in Human Rights

 The Human Rights Committee at the Ministry of Interior discussed means to enhance and activate efforts in areas related to human rights. The committee had held its first meeting under the chairmanship of Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Nehkairah Al Mahremi, Head of Human Rights Department in the Ministry of Interior, and Chairman of the committee. Present at the meeting were Colonel Mohammad Khalifa Al Marar, Director General of Undersecretary Diwan, Brigadier General Dr. Abdullah Ali Bin Sahoo, General Manager of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah; Brigadier General  Muhammad Abdullah Al Marar, Director of Human Rights General Department at Dubai Police; Colonel Dr. Abdulla Bu Hindi, Director of Juveniles Care Center of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; Mr. Adel Al Mahri, Director of Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; along with all the committee members, at the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates in Dubai.

Brigadier Al Mahremi stressed the importance of forming specialized work teams and acquainting them with the international mechanisms in the human rights field; in addition to the means of dealing with these mechanisms. Moreover, he pointed out that the next stage requires additional work and further efforts to deal with the international reports related to human rights.
